Bog Oak handle blank, approximately 5300 years old.
This is a very nice wood to work with, it cuts well and takes a lovely finish.
Approx. dimensions are 92x37x17mm
Ideal size for a Sgian Dubh handle.
Colour and grain will likely differ from photo.
Bog Oak can vary in colour from tan through to nearly black, the colour becomes darker once oiled and waxed and if you like you can use black wax when finishing.
Most of it is a dark brown which is what we usually supply, however if you have a particular preference for colour then please let us know when you order.
